Roscommon were rarely troubled by a disappointing IT Sligo side at Strokestown.
John Evans' men kicked four points inside the opening seven minutes to signal their intent and held the visitors scoreless until the last kick of the opening half when David Quinn hit the students' only score of the half from a free.
By then, Roscommon led by 0-7 to 0-1 and the only disappointment from Evans' point of view was that his side didn't score a goal in the second half.
Ciaran Murtagh and Colin Compton did most of the scoring and accounted for the home side's first two points. Further scores followed from Ciaran Cafferkey, Mark Healy, Senan Kilbride and Murtagh (two) before Quinn's response.
Brian Gallagher blasted over Sligo's first score from play at the start of the new half and the hosts cemented their dominance with scores from Compton, substitute Cathal Cregg and Murtagh to run out comfortable winners.
