Monaghan's Beggan backs himself to go top of the pile

Monaghan goalkeeper Rory Beggan is now the overall leader of Fantasy Gaelic 2014 after his man-of-the-match performance against Armagh last Saturday.

On top of keeping a clean sheet, the Farney 'keeper kicked five points in a superb performance to put his Captain Fantastic team top of the Scotstown, Monaghan, Ulster, the County player AND the National leaderboards.

He amassed a total of 58 points for his teams (20 - MOTM 30 - 5 points, 5 - Clean, 3 - provincial appearance) and for his own team was awarded double for having himself as captain!

A shrewd move and a top pick for this transfer window, the Scotstown sharpshooter scored 27 points more than the next best performer, Dublin's Paul Flynn (31), and Meath's Damien Carroll (29).

The first transfer week of the season will close this afternoon at 2.0.

Players are allowed to make up to five transfers on their teams to rebuild their sides for the provincial finals.

After the Monaghan/Armagh draw last week, players can be selected from these squads also and they will score in today's replay and also in the Ulster final.

Our iOS Fantasy Gaelic app is also now available and is free to download from the App Store. Players can now keep track of their teams, players, points and league positions on their iPhones/iPads.

Transfers can also be made on the App, which makes your team's management much more accessible.
