Molony's goal decisive as Ballyboden set up final clash with Portlaoise
Ballyboden St Enda’s 1-11 St Loman’s Mullingar 0-9
Sam Molony’s first-half goal proved decisive as Ballyboden St Enda’s powered to a Leinster final with a five-point victory over Westmeath champions St Loman’s in Cusack Park, Mullingar.
The sides were level at 0-5 each after an even opening quarter but ‘Boden goalkeeper Paul Durcan had to be at his best in the 22nd minute to save a Shane Dempsey shot.
Just three minutes later Molony, a member of this year’s Dublin U-21 squad, finished to the net after great work from Conal Keaney.
The Dublin champions led 1-7 to 0-6 at the break and three Keaney frees at the start of the second-half killed off the St Loman’s challenge as they ran out relatively comfortable winners.
They will meet Laois kingpins Portlaoise in the final on December 6.
