Milmoe leads way for Lilywhites
Kildare 1-12 Kilkenny 0-5
Oisin Milmoe led the way for a second-string Kildare at Nowlan Park last night against a Kilkenny side who were coming off the back of a 38-point pasting by Wicklow.
The Lilywhites had already qualified for the semi-finals and Shane Flynn and Cian Burke were the sole survivors from their last win over Louth.
Milmoe was the only Kildare attacker who had his shooting boots on during the first half, helping himself to 1-4. The Cats registered three points during that half and they led for a short period after a Ryan O'Grady free.
Kildare nearly grabbed a second goal on half-time when Fiachra Galvin ripped through the defence and kicked a good effort on target.
Goalie Jack Conway saved well, and then brought off a second save as Dan Woulfe threatened. At the finish Conway saved a penalty to maintain respectability for the losers.
