McNally leads Lilies into decider
Kildare 3-14 Sligo 0-6
Kildare comfortably booked their place in a second All-Ireland junior final in three years with a 17-point rout of Sligo in Longford's Pearse Park.
An eight-minute spell in the first half that yielded 2-7 did the damage for Kildare, with Cathal McNally and Hugh Mahon finding the net.
Sligo found it hard to live with the pacy, direct running of senior panelists McNally and Keith Cribbin, and U-21 starlet Mahon.
The searing heat of the evening seemed to affect the players in the second half as the game went through something of a lull.
Kildare, however, remained in charge, and a number of changes brought them back to life.
A late goal and a point from Michael French sealed an impressive win.
