McKeever proves crucial

DUNDALK Colleges recovered from falling four points behind inside the first five minutes to seal a deserved win over Colaiste Mhuire in Darver.

The midlanders settled quickest and the trusty boot of Dean McNicholas put them in good stead. But Dundalk slowly found their rhythm and a brilliantly taken goal by Conall McKeever in the 17th minute helped the hosts to a 1-3 to 0-5 half-time lead.

Colaiste Mhuire drew level after an Sean Daly effort, but failed to score in the last 20 minutes as Dundalk, inspired by their superb corner- forward pairing of McKeever and Ciaran Byrne, sealed the victory.
