A brace of goals apiece from Adam McDermott and Aaron Oyiki helped Roscommon steamroll Leitrim to keep their provincial championship hopes alive at Dr Hyde Park.

Leitrim had been the better side for the opening half but their shooting was wayward, and once Oyiki scored his 28th-minute goal, Emmet Durney's charges never looked back.

Leading by 1-5 to 0-4 at half time, Roscommon then ran riot. McDermott set up Oyiki for an easy goal after 37 minutes before McDermott danced his way along the endline and applied a neat finish.

The Rossies were running riot and only a couple of frees from Barry McWeeney, who ended up with 0-5 overall, provided comfort for Leitrim.

Substitute Cormac Regan landed a couple of moments in quick succession before McDermott pounced for his second goal late on.

Roscommon can now look forward to a crunch game against Sligo in a few weeks' time.
