Mayo sweat on Aidan O'Shea fitness for do-or-die Galway clash
Mayo boss James Horan could be facing yet more injury headaches after it emerged that star midfielder Aidan O'Shea is a doubt for Saturday night's do-or-die showdown with Galway in Limerick.
The 'Connaught Telegraph' has reported that the in-form O'Shea's right foot is in a cast following last Saturday's win over Armagh. However, it is hoped the injury may not be as serious as first thought.
Mayo are already without Matthew Ruane (collarbone) and captain Diarmuid O'Connor (hand) through injury, while Seamus O'Shea is working on his return to fitness after a lengthy injury lay-off.
Key defender and former Footballer of the Year Lee Keegan is out of the Galway game due to an ankle injury sustained against the Orchard men, while
Jason Doherty and Brendan Harrison also came off injured against Armagh but are expected to be available for selection.
