Leinster crown goes to St Pat's
REIGNING Leinster and All-Ireland champions St Mary's, Edenderry lost their crowns in Cusack Park, Mullingar yesterday afternoon when St Patrick's, Navan regained the provincial title with a deserved win.
Cein McMonagle of St Mary's scored a fine goal in the 18th minute to give his side the lead. Three minutes later, an improvised flick to the net from Niall McCabe put the Meath lads back in front.
However, an opportunist goal from Ruairí McNamee in the 29th minute had the teams level at the break (1-6 to 2-3).
Colm O'Rourke's side finished the stronger, with unanswered points from substitute Robert Keelaghan, corner-forward Niall Lyons and impressive centre-back Niall Kane.

FOUR months on from Calry/St Joseph's defeat on the same Birmingham pitch in the Junior Club Championship, several of the same players headed back with a better outcome as Sligo defeated Warwickshire. Gary Waldron's close-range conversion in the first half set the visitors on their way, and a controlled second-half performance was capped by further goals from Kevin Gilmartin and Ciaran Brennan.
