Limerick manager Billy Lee doesn't want his team to settle for one shock result after they stunned Tipperary in Thurles.

It was a first success in the Munster SFC since 2012 and Lee's first win in the Championship as Limerick manager.

It was an emphatic victory too, with goals from Iain Corbett, Cillian Fahy and Peter Nash pushing the final margin out to seven points at Semple Stadium.

"We have seen it at the training ground. Some of them are young and are learning. Coming out of the club scene in Limerick doesn't always set you up for the next level, it takes time," said Lee.

"But you have got to have faith. I have faith in them because they have the ability. To bring the rest of it with it is going to take a while.

"This one victory won't change anything in its totality. It will help, give more belief and encourage them.

"It's a great victory, we are delighted with it. We will keep our feet on the ground, take on Cork, but I will look beyond that. We can't just take this as the pinnacle of it."

It was 0-8 apiece at the break, although Limerick were by far the better side and should have been a few points ahead.

Tipp were looking to set up a third straight semi-final meeting with Cork, but Corbett's 47th-minute goal gave Limerick the impetus. Fahy and Nash scored either side of Michael Quinlivan's goal in the 69th minute.

"I still have a lot of faith in that panel," said Tipp manager Liam Kearns. "But certainly, we've taken steps backwards in the last two years. We can either lie down now or get up and fight."
