Last-gasp Carty the Model hero
Wexford 1-10 Meath 0-12 Leinster JFC FINAL
Jamie Carty was the local hero as his dramatic goal two minutes into added-time at Innovate Wexford Park gave Wexford a stunning victory.
Meath had surged into an early five-point lead, with scores from Cian Lynch (three), Ciaran Kelly and Danny Quinn.
Conor Sinnott, Graham Carty and Niall Harney cut the deficit to two, but Meath pulled away again to lead 0-8 to 0-4 at the interval.
The visitors went 0-11 to 0-6 ahead when Kelly pointed on 40 minutes, but Wexford gradually wrested the initiative, kicking four unanswered points through Sinnott (two frees), Jamie Carty and sub Lee Devereux.
Kelly's point one minute from the end seemed to have sealed it for Meath at 0-12 to 0-10, but right at the death, Devereux's lob broke to Jamie Carty who fired home to snatch victory.
