A stunning second-half performance handed Ryan McMenamin his first win as Fermanagh boss at Brewster Park yesterday.

Roscommon were on top in the first half and were six points ahead at the break (0-9 to 0-3), but with the sun breaking through the clouds, it was the home team who controlled the second half.

A Cian McKeon free edged Roscommon ahead in injury-time but Fermanagh refused to give up. Ryan Jones levelled things up before a turnover released Ciarán Corrigan, who jinked inside his man before splitting the posts with conviction for the winner.

It was all Roscommon in the opening 15 minutes as they swept into a 0-5 to 0-0 lead.

Brian Stack was influential for the Rossies and his side hit the last four points of the half to lead by six.

Conal Jones clipped over two quick points and although McKeon replied from play, it was Fermanagh, through Richard O'Callaghan and Eoin Donnelly, who led by example for the home side.

Corrigan and three further efforts from Conal Jones, two from frees, had the minimum between the teams before Ultan Kelm tied things up. Jones, with a fine effort from play, had the home fans jumping in the stands as Fermanagh took the lead for the first time, but Finbar Cregg restored parity to set up a tense last five minutes.

McKeon edged Roscommon in front, but Fermanagh were getting their hands on the ball more and they swept forward for the concluding two points to secure a confidence-boosting win.
