Shane Killoran's injury-time goal helped Roscommon overcome NUI Galway in an entertaining contest at Ballyforan.

The home side controlled the bulk of proceedings and the Elphin player netted the only goal following a flowing move.

Making 11 changes from last week, the home side established a 0-11 to 0-6 advantage at the interval. The teams were level at 0-6 apiece after 26 minutes, but five unanswered points propelled Kevin McStay's charges clear.

Full-forward Owen Gallagher caught the eye for the students, kicking three fine scores from play in the opening 35 minutes.

In the second-half, Roscommon spurned three decent goal chances, but kept the scoreboard ticking over with a flurry of points.

Galway received a bizarre hand from Rossies goalkeeper Mark Miley, as he fisted over a point while trying to clear his lines.

However, Killoran's goal sets the Rossies on course to reach their third successive FBD League final.
