Kevin McStay given two-year term as sole Roscommon manager
A messy managerial appointment process in Roscommon has come to an end tonight with the announcement that Kevin McStay will continue in the role for the next two years.
McStay was appointed as joint-manager last year with Fergal O'Donnell but the managerial ticket collapsed after a disappointing qualifier exit to Clare in the championship.
O'Donnell decided to step down, leaving McStay as the front-runner for the position until U21 boss Nigel Dineen put his name forward.
Dineen subsequently withdrew, citing 'strong reservations about the integrity' of the appointment process as the reason why. McStay was ratified tonight to continue in his role for two years, and it is expected that selector Liam McHale will remain in his backroom staff in 2017.
