The 2018 Munster JFC trophy will be residing in Beaufort for the next 12 months after the Kerry champions came out on top in this epic decider at Mallow.

It was Beaufort that got off to the most perfect of starts. Nathan Breen scored with a composed finish to the back of the net. Mike Breen and Pádraig Doona also got early points.

But Dromtarriffe responded well, the Cork side netting through a cool Seamus O'Sullivan strike.

Dromtarriffe were growing in momentum and the North Cork side would go in at half-time 2-6 to 1-3 in front. O'Sullivan netted for the second time on the rebound. He was in the right place at the right time, after an effort from Mark O'Connor bounced into his path.

Fightback Beaufort looked to muster a fightback in the second half, with Fergal Hallissey finding his range with scores, while Ciarán Kennedy's goal meant they were right back in this contest.

The Kerrymen were growing in momentum and they were to edge into the lead in what was a cracking and gripping decider.

It was tit-for-tat stuff late on and when Conor O'Callaghan pointed for Cork representatives, it meant that extra-time was required, with the score at 2-11 apiece after normal time.

In extra-time, it was Beaufort that dug deep into the well to secure the silverware, seeing off the very brave Dromtarriffe challenge.
