Ferbane looked in control at half-time but a determined comeback from Wicklow champions St Patrick's saw them leave Tullamore with the spoils.

They now take on Portlaoise but after Cian Johnson and Cathal Flynn hit first-half goals for Ferbane, things didn't look good for the Wicklow men.

Ferbane led by four at the break and when St Patrick's lost their talisman, captain Stephen Duffy, to a black card on 38 minutes, it looked like it would strengthen Ferbane's hand.

But St Patrick's rallied and with Thomas Kelly (above) leading the way up front they outplayed Ferbane in the final 20 minutes.

Kelly's goal 20 minutes from time sparked the revival while Ferbane couldn't deal with St Patrick's running game

The goals - in the space of five minutes - were the big difference. Stephen Duffy and Kelly were both firing well up front for St Patrick's while Joe Maher was pulling the strings for the Ferbane men.

Ferbane led 2-3 to 0-3 after 13 minutes but only managed to add one more point before half-time as Wicklow's champions hit three with Duffy adding two.

After the interval, St Patrick's robbed them of possession in midfield and caught them on the break with Thomas Kelly firing low past Jack Cullinan.
