Keenan gives Fermanagh home comforts

Fermanagh were the much brighter and livelier side during this McKenna Cup fixture, with Monaghan struggling to shake off the winter break and the home side securing a comfortable win.

A scoring surge just after half-time saw Fermanagh edge five points ahead of Monaghan with Matthew Keenan much to the fore for the Erne men.

Hugh McElroy battled well for Monaghan but Fermanagh were picking off scores from all over the pitch with James Sherry, Ryan Carson and Tommy McElroy all producing influential performances.

Dick Clerkin did not see past 20 minutes however, with the Monaghan full-back picking up a red card for a foul on ex-Tyrone player Aidan McCarron in the first quarter.
