Joyce secures second chance for Killererin

Killererin 0-10
Mountbellew/Moylough 1-7

Both goalkeepers managed to score in this encounter -- and they will get to do it all again next Saturday to see who will meet Corofin in the final.

Mountbellew/Moylough, runners-up last year, did most of the running at Tuam Stadium but while Killererin never led, they managed to come from five points down in the opening half to salvage a draw.

Their second-half revival was led by Padraic Joyce, who kicked two excellent points from play and then landed the equaliser a minute and a half from the end.

Mountbellew/Moylough enjoyed a perfect start, with Sean Sweeney getting a goal after just two minutes, but they struggled to turn possession into scores.

Their goalkeeper Brian Donnellan, pointed a '45' after 21 minutes but former Galway All-Ireland-winning 'keeper Alan Keane emulated that 10 minutes after the restart.

Cathal Kenny's third point of the match restored Mountbellew/ Moylough's lead after 42 minutes but they failed to score from there to the end.

Both sides squandered good chances but, almost inevitably, it was left to Joyce to strike the most crucial score of the day when he pointed a free a minute and a half from the end.

The replay has been provisionally fixed for next Saturday at Tuam Stadium, when both will hope for a better scoring return from possession.
