Jim Gavin picks some young guns as Dublin name strong side for league opener
All-Ireland champions Dublin have named a powerful line-up for their opening Allianz League game against Kildare at Croke Park on Saturday night.
Colm Basquel and Brian Howard get their chance alongside the established Dublin regulars, with Jim Gavin’s team containing only seven of the side that started last September’s thrilling All-Ireland final victory over Mayo.

Jim Gavin's high regard for Brian Howard and Colm Basquel sees both start.
Kildare boss Cian O'Neill is relishing the challenge of taking on Dublin, with his side missing injured duo Keith Cribbin and Jimmy Hyland.
"You are testing yourself against the best team in the country, whether it is the first match or the last match, they are still the top team," O'Neill told RTÉ Sport.
"They won't be backing down from seeing Kildare coming up the M7 and I'd like to think we won't be backing down just because we are playing the All Ireland champions."
