As the pitch turned bright orange after Sunday’s final whistle at the Athletic Grounds, Tyrone’s fallen champions must have cursed their luck.

Even the forlorn hope that the ground would open and swallow them up was suddenly rendered impossible under the creaking tonnage of ecstatic Armagh fans.
