It was a disappointing day for Galway fans in Salthill as they slumped to a 1-15 to 2-8 defeat to bitter rivals Mayo.

Aidan O'Shea caused consternation in the rearguard with a driving run and when the ball went loose Galway keeper Manus Breathnach kicked the ball against Finian Hanley and it ended up in his own net.
