Galway were spared the handicap of having to prepare two teams for Saturday’s All-Ireland semi-final against Derry — one with captain Seán Kelly, and one without.

I am delighted that he is able to play as there was no evidence that he either struck anyone or in any way contributed to a melee, an offence which has been dismissed several times already this year.
