Matt Duggan admitted he was "exhausted" after watching his side edge a scarcely believable All-Ireland JFC semi-final at Dr Hyde Park.

Twelve goals, 39 points, seven yellow cards, two black cards, a goal in the fifth minute of injury time to force extra-time and a Galway substitute hitting four points from play in extra-time to see the Tribesmen over the line - no wonder the Galway manager could barely catch his breath.

"I was never involved in a game like that, I'd nearly forget the score! It was an exhausting game. I'm just exhausted trying to speak here. It was a very bad start for us, we went six points down, but this bunch are a determined and skilful set of lads."

Jonathan Ryan, just back from holidays abroad, hit four points during the additional 20 minutes needed to separate the sides after another sub, Enda Tierney, goaled with the last action of the game.

Meath had six unanswered points from play inside the first five minutes and then had goals in the opening 19 minutes from Jason Scully, Seán Reilly and Kevin Ross. But goals from Colm Brennan and Pádraic O'Donnell kept Galway in touch.
