After having one foot in the grave in the first half, Wicklow's footballers got a new lease of life on the changeover to carve out a one-point win over Leitrim at Aughrim.

The hosts looked to be buried as Leitrim raced into an unopposed nine-point lead in the opening 26 minutes. Attackers Donal Wrynn and Fergal Clancy were dominating for the visitors, while corner-back Alan Byrne and Ross O'Brien appeared to be the only ones working for Wicklow. Conor McGraynor sparked the comeback with a point from a free. McGrath, Darren Hayden, McCrea landed points and the margin was down to a point. Brave London beaten by Carlow

SECOND-half Carlow goals from Hughie Gahan and Darragh O'Brien gave the home county a narrow win over a spirited London side in fog-shrouded Netwatch Cullen Park in Carlow.

The football exiles put it up to Turlough O'Brien's men who were guilty of some appalling first-half shooting while their opponents took their limited scoring chances, recording no wides as they led 0-5 to 0-4 at the break.

Gahan's goal on 39 minutes put Carlow ahead and when Darragh O'Brien put the home side 2-7 to 0-9 in front the points looked secure. But London refused to buckle and four unanswered points from Scott Conroy, Conor Sheridan (2) and Lorcan Mulvey, all from play had the exiles level.
