Offaly put on a scoring exhibition in Tullamore as they gained their first points in Division 3 by disposing of an outclassed Antrim side.

With 11 different scorers over the 70 minutes, Pat Flanagan's charges were really impressive, with Nigel Dunne, Eoin Carroll and Michael Brazil all excelling.

With a tight defence limiting Antrim to just five scores from open play, Offaly were on top form.

Flanagan was happy with the improved performance after an opening round loss away to Longford.

"We said before the game that we needed to up our performance and we weren't happy with what happened in Longford last week. We were well below par," he said.

"We asked them for a performance today, for honesty and commitment and a bit of Offaly passion and I think every player showed that today. They all stood up to be counted."

Offaly led 0-9 to 0-4 at half-time with the aid of the breeze and kicked the opening eight points of the second-half to put the game beyond doubt.

Nigel Dunne led the way with eight points for the winners.

Antrim did hit back with a late consolation goal from Matthew Fitzpatrick, but Offaly were on another level and played some excellent football throughout.

Along with Dunne, midfielder Carroll was to the fore with three well-taken points from play, as the Offaly men now look to build some momentum.
