Kerry U-21 manager Fitzmaurice, who lined out at full-forward, rolled back the years and got the game's only goal midway through the second half when he fetched a long delivery with just one hand before firing to the roof of the net.
Fitzmaurice also kicked three points (one from play) to see off a Listowel side hoping to appear in their seventh final in 11 years.
The game was tied at four points each at the break when Emmets introduced Tadhg Kennelly.
However, he couldn't inspire his team, who managed just two points from play over the course of the 60 minutes in very difficult conditions in Tarbert. Finuge face Beale in the final on December 18.
