Fennell leads Louth fightback
Louth 3-15 Sligo 1-9
WITH centre-forward Shane Fennell to the fore, scoring seven points, Louth emerged victorious at Markievicz Park on Saturday.
Louth scored 1-2 in the first five minutes of the second half, turning an interval deficit of a point into a four-point lead, 2-8 to 1-7.
David Dunne's 54th-minute goal then put considerable daylight between the two sides, 3-10 to 1-9.
Sligo hit nine first-half wides and the dismissal of Damien Burke on a second yellow card with 13 minutes remaining scuppered any hopes of a recovery for the Connacht men.
