THE Generation Game is a winner with Dublin as fathers and sons continue a family line of success.

Jackie Gilroy, the late father of Pat, played for St Vincent's and Dublin in the '60s. He didn't get to play in the 1963 All-Ireland win but he was a member of the panel that year.

Son Pat went on to win the All-Ireland with the county as a player in 1995 and managed them to their 2011 victory.

Bernard Brogan, father of Alan, Bernard and Paul, was a key member of the Super Dubs of the '70s and won three All-Ireland medals.

Alan and Bernard played in the 2011 win, and Paul was on the panel.

James McCarthy, also on that victorious team of two years ago, is the son of John, another '70s star.

Paul Curran from the 1995 side also had a Sam Maguire Cup-winning dad, but Noel won his medal with the 'ould enemy', Meath, in 1967.

And now Dean Rock, Barney's son, is preparing for the 2013 final, as is Jack McCaffrey, son of former All Star Noel.
