Doubts over 'Banty' future
Seamus McEnaney's re-appointment as Monaghan manager is in doubt after last night's County Board meeting failed to ratify him for a three-year term, WRITES COLM KEYS.
Instead clubs have been asked to submit nominations for the position by September 3 ahead to the next meeting.
The Monaghan executive had agreed to give 'Banty' McEnaney, the second longest serving manager in gaelic football, a three-year extension last week but club delegates decided last night to open up the process. McEnaney may still be nominated but the move by the clubs may signal the end of his reign.
