Donegal manage to hold off late attack from Roscommon

DONEGAL withstood ferocious late pressure from Roscommon to scrape their way into the All-Ireland minor football semi-finals. Donegal led by six points with 15 minutes remaining after struggling early with eight wides, but Noel Gately's 47th-minute goal ignited Roscommon.

Donegal didn't score in the last quarter, but Declan Bonner's team just about did enough as Cian Mulligan's four points from wing-back proved vital.Hubert Darcy's point ensured a nervous finale.

Roscommon went in search of a goal, but Evan McGrath saw his net-bound effort in added time blocked by man of the match Mulligan as Donegal prevailed.
