DONEGAL finally saw off the challenge of Tyrone to book their place in the last four of the Ulster under-21 championship after their replay in Ballybofey tonight.

Michael Langan, with seven points, stood out in miserable conditions to book a date with Cavan next Wednesday.

Langan also missed a penalty on 37 minutes, which would’ve put Declan Bonner’s side four in front. Benny Gallon, the Tyrone goalkeeper, saved well. But the home team finished strongly to give the scoreboard a much healthier look than it deserved.

Ryan Coleman scored Tyrone's first half goal and the side's were level at the break but Donegal were too strong for their rivals after the interval.

Michael McKernan, the Tyrone captain, was sent off in the latter stages for adding a black to his earlier yellow, having fouled Eoghan Ban Gallagher. Tyrone’s Nathan Donnelly was also dismissed after being given a straight red in injury time.
