Carlow sub Daniel St Ledger looked to have secured an away win at Fraher Field for Carlow when his fisted 59th-minute goal gave his side a six-point lead over a new-look Waterford.

However, Waterford kept the visitors scoreless for the rest of the game and proceeded to score 1-3 themselves to earn them three League points from their last two outings. Following a Jason Curry free in the 62nd minute, Déise centre-back Seanie O'Donovan finished a sweeping movement to the Carlow net four minutes later, and added-time scores from full-back Darach Ó Cathasaigh and Curry earned the home side the draw that their efforts deserved.

Playing with the wind, Carlow led by 1-10 to 1-5 at half-time. The home side reduced the deficit to just two by the 55th minute, and despite St Ledger's goal, Waterford rallied.
