Dead-eye Ryan keeps Limerick on roll
Limerick maintained their 100pc record in Division 4 after coming from behind at the Gaelic Grounds.
Carlow were two points up inside 90 seconds, but Ian Ryan and Eoghan O'Connor replied for Limerick, who controlled possession during the early exchanges
Both sides played open football early on, and Carlow used the wind to their advantage with scores from Darragh Foley and Martin Doyle, but Thomas Lee and some accurate free-taking from Ryan kept Limerick level.
Carlow's backs began to venture forward, and when Limerick failed to track back, Benny Kavanagh and Kieran Nolan scored points to push the visitors ahead, 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time.
Despite playing directly into the strong breeze, Carlow started the second half brighter, and Foley restored the two-point lead after Brian Scanlon's '45' for Limerick.
Conditions began to worsen further, and the game became scrappy, with both sides guilty of giving away needless frees.
Captain Ryan's free-taking kept Limerick in touch, but Doyle pointed soon after to leave Carlow 0-9 to 0-7 ahead with 20 minutes to go.
Limerick's defence began to close down their opponents more, and this proved crucial as they shut out Carlow for the final 20 minutes.
Ryan knocked over two more frees to level the game with four minutes to go, and it was he who slotted the winning score, again from a free, to give Limerick their fourth win in a row.
