Cunningham haul fuels upwardly mobile Saffrons
For the second season in a row, Antrim are poised for promotion after defeating Louth at Casement Park on Saturday night, brushing the Wee County aside 2-14 to 2-6.
The Saffrons dominated the first half with midfielder Michael McCann pointing from two frees to give Antrim an early five-point lead. Louth came back into with a Mark Brennan goal but Antrim gained the upper hand when they rattled up 2-3 without reply in 15 minutes. Paddy Cunning-ham and Justin Crozier found the net before Brennan struck again to leave it 2-9 to 2-3 at the interval. That inspired Louth in the second half but their attack lacked potency and Antrim took control to seal the points.
