Corofin state All-Ireland title credentials with thumping Connacht final win over St Brigid's

Corofin 2-13 St Brigid's 0-05

2015 All-Ireland champions Corofin look well placed to repeat the feat this year after comfortably dispatching St Brigid's by 14 points in this afternoon's Connacht final.

Corofin started well, kicking the first four scores before Brigid's replied through Eoin Sheehy and Karol Mannion. However, the Roscommon champions would kick just one more point in the first half, which was dominated by the Galway side.

Michael Farragher emphatically slammed home a goal midway through the opening 30 minutes to leave Corofin ten points to the good at half time, leading 1-8 to 0-3.

It was more of the same in the second half, with Brigid's registering just two more scores as Corofin sent out a warning shot to their All-Ireland rivals.

The game was already over when wing forward Jason Leonard blasted to the net in the final quarter.

Corofin will play the winner of this afternoon's Munster final between Dr Crokes (Kerry) and The Nire (Waterford) in the All-Ireland semi-final in February.
