St Peter's led 0-10 to 0-1 at half-time of normal time having been backed by the elements and being the dominant force.

A SPLENDIDLY-STRUCK point into the teeth of a gale-force wind by St Aidan's substitute Adam Conway midway through the second half of extra-time proved the winning score in an exciting clash in Fenagh yesterday.

St Peter's led 0-10 to 0-1 at half-time of normal time having been backed by the elements and being the dominant force.

However, St Aidan's, the 2014 Leinster B champions, came back strongly in the second half to shock their opponents with two goals in the space of as many minutes during the final quarter - from John Connell and Cathal Doran - to lead 2-5 to 0-11.

It took a superb point from half-back Jack Pettitt deep into injury-time to drag the Wexford lads into extra-time in a game in which they looked likely winners for so long.

Playing into the wind in the first period of extra-time, Peter's led 0-14 to 2-7 at the turnaround. But they failed to score in the second half and a brace of points from Conway saw the Dublin school through.
