Connolly stars for Attracta's

AN impressive St Attracta's produced a classy display to overwhelm a gallant Our Lady's Templemore to claim the title in Mullingar.

The teams were closely matched in the early stages and were tied at 0-3 each with 20 minutes elapsed, but well-taken goals from Stephen Connolly and Cian Gilmartin propelled the Sligo lads into a 2-5 to 0-3 lead by half-time.

That advantage was extended to 10 points (2-10 to 0-6) by the end of the third quarter before Sean Patrick Guerins netted from the penalty spot for the Tipperary school in the 48th minute. However, St Attracta's responded immediately with an opportunist goal from Conor McIntyre.

St Attracta's continued to dominate the game and a late point from a free and another goal, both by substitute Darragh Kilcoyne, wrapped up the win in fine style.
