Eddie Courtney kept his composure brilliantly to land an injury-time winner from a 40-metre free and propel St Michael's, Enniskillen to a deserved victory over Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne at O'Moore Park on Saturday.
Courtney gave a magnificent exhibition of kicking in the second half, punishing Corca Dhuibhne's indiscipline time and again.
St Michael's began more confidently, Courtney converting a free before Tommy McCaffrey pointed on the turn to push them two points clear. Padraig O Dubhain kicked an excellent opener for the Kerry contingent before the impressive Dara O Se equalised from a free. O Se and Tomas O Ciobhain were major threats but were denied enough possession.
The Kerry side led by a point at half-time and Maitiu O Flatharta and O Ciobhain extended the advantage to three early in the second half but St Michael's powered into it from that point onwards.
Courtney's 45-metre free brought the scores level and when he repeated the trick from just five metres closer, the celebrations could begin.
