Kerry 2-17 Cork 1-10
A tally of 2-8 from David Clifford underpinned a dominant Kerry display in Páirc Uí Rinn last night.
The Kingdom had to overcome the concession of an early goal as Evan Murphy netted for Cork inside ten seconds, following a good run from the Rebels' brightest performer Mark Keane.
That blip aside, though, the visitors, and Clifford in particular, were imperious.
The full-forward had two points as they quickly drew level and then he put them ahead with a goal, set up by Donnchadh O'Sullivan.
The Kerry scores continued to come, slightly interrupted by some from Cork's Damien Gore, but Clifford's second goal, set up by Fiachra Clifford, opened up an eight-point lead, 2-8 to 1-3. By half-time, it was 2-9 to 1-5, Keane and Murphy having pointed for Cork while sub Cillian Myers Murray had them within six on the resumption.
That was as close as they would come, though, David Clifford (two) and Donnchadh O'Sullivan easing Kerry clear once more. They were 2-13 to 1-7 ahead when Keane was fouled for a Cork penalty but Deividas Uosis saved well and also denied Keane after that.
While Kerry didn't threaten any more goals, they didn't need them and eased to a ten-point win.
