Cathal McCarron back training with Tyrone
Controversial player will rejoin panel for 2015 season
Cathal McCarron will return to the Tyrone panel for the 2015 season.
The Gaelic Players' Association today released an official statement confirming that the controversial star is "currently working on his personal fitness under a strength and conditioning coach with a view to returning to full training with the Tyrone squad when they regroup next month".
McCarron hit the headlines for the wrong reasons last year when it emerged he had a serious gambling addiction and he subsequently took part in a gay pornographic movie to pay off some of his debts.
“Cathal McCarron and the Tyrone senior football management would like to inform the national media that Cathal is currently working on his personal fitness under a strength and conditioning coach with a view to returning to full training with the Tyrone squad when they regroup next month," read today's statement.
“While conveying this positive news we would like to point out that Cathal will not be engaging with media in any capacity for the foreseeable future.
“On behalf of Cathal, the Tyrone squad and management, the GPA would kindly ask you to respect Cathal’s need to focus on his recovery and his return to football.”
