Cathal Corey named new Sligo football manager
Tyrone native Cathal Corey is the new manager of the Sligo football team.
He replaces Niall Carew who stepped down last month after three years in charge of the Yeats county.
Corey was linked to the Donegal managerial role before Declan Bonner was given the post.
He was also linked with the Donegal job after Jim McGuinness left in 2014. He previously acted as a joint manager alongside McGuinness at Naomh Conaill where the pair led them to a Donegal final in 2009.
He led Glenties to an Ulster club final in 2010 and has worked with UUJ and Slaughtneil since then.
This is his first inter-county appointment.
