All-Ireland Junior Club champions Brosna came from six points down at half-time to force Listowel Emmets veteran Noel Kennelly to kick a late equalising point in an absorbing North Kerry final, played in atrocious conditions at Moyvane.

It was Brosna's first final and it probably showed in the opening half when they failed to capitalise on good possession as the experience of Listowel helped them to a 0-8 to 0-2 lead.

However, a 48th-minute Don McAuliffe goal gave Brosna a lifeline and with the sides tied 1-6 to 0-9 at the finish, the contest will now go to a replay on January 3.

The East Kerry final saw Rathmore retain the O'Donoghue Cup thanks to a 3-11 to 2-7 victory over Legion who were unable to overcome the loss of injured star James O'Donoghue.
