Brady secures crown for Mullahoran

Mullahoran 1-8 Kingscourt Stars 0-7 CAVAN SFC FINAL

Philip Brady's goal three minutes from time set the seal on a 12th title success for Mullahoran.

The clinching score came after 2010 champions Kingscourt threatened to level the game for the sixth time.

Kingscourt trailed by 0-3 to 0-1 after 12 minutes but went on to enjoy both territorial advantage and the lion's share of possession, powering their way into a 0-4 to 0-3 lead.

Mullahoran's go-to-guy Enda O'Reilly stepped up to the mark in the run-up to the interval to leave the sides deadlocked at five points apiece.

Kingscourt edged into a 0-7 to 0-5 lead in a slow-to-the-boil third quarter before Mullahoran pounced on their opponents' lack of a killer punch and three O'Reilly frees preceded Brady's major late on.
