Armagh young guns outpoint Louth
ARMAGH 0-14 LOUTH 2-7
No black cards were shown as Steven McDonnell's Armagh U-21s beat a Louth senior selection in Crossmaglen.
McDonnell expressed some surprise that none were flashed by referee Noel Mooney, but was pleased his young side showed a lot of character to withstand a strong Louth fightback.
Wind-assisted Armagh led by 0-9 to 0-2 after 23 minutes but a great run and shot by John Kermode gave Louth a vital goal. Armagh led 0-11 to 1-4 at the break.
A William Woods penalty, followed by a point by the same player, put Louth ahead on 42 minutes.
Armagh, though, responded with points from Ethan Rafferty and sub Conor McNally to book a place in the final.
