Ace Stone sinks Scoil Dara

Moate sailed into the quarter-finals last night as prolific Alan Stone played a key role.

Scoil Dara were forced to field without Padraig Harnan, who was replaced by Tony Forde. There was little between the sides in the opening 10 minutes, but the Westmeath side took control and outscored Kilcock by 10 points to one in the rest of the half.

The scoreboard read 0-13 to 0-4 at the interval, as the Scoil Dara defence fought to contain the efforts of Alan Stone, Brian Finnerty and Dave McCormack.

After the break, Kilcock reduced the arrears with points from Mark Durkin and Ross Tallon before Darren Scanlon rattled the net at the other end. And points from David Minnock and Finnerty finished off Kilcock.
