McGrath seals Galway's final date
Liberty Insurance All-Ireland semi-finals: Galway 1-14 Wexford 2-10
Niamh McGrath kept Galway's double dream alive with an injury-time point to secure a place in the All-Ireland final.
It was tough on a resolute Wexford, who had displayed their character with a strong finish.
But when a McGrath free was deflected out for a '45' in the seventh minute of additional time, the Sarsfields sharpshooter made no mistake to snatch victory.
Wexford were always playing catch-up in the opening period at Nowlan Park. McGrath and Emma Kilkelly were among Galway's early point scorers, with Wexford captain Shelley Kehoe and Ursula Jacob responding.
Ailish O'Reilly put two between the sides and that quickly became five thanks to a stunning Molly Dunne goal.
Wexford were soon back in touch when Katrina Parrock's long ball found its way to the net. A couple of McGrath points gave Galway a 1-8 to 1-4 half-time lead.
After the break, Niamh Kilkenny's brace of points stretched Galway's lead before Jacob cut the gap.
Galway were five points ahead with time running out but Stacey Kehoe pounced for her second goal. Dunne stretched the margin to three in injury-time and McGrath's final point sealed the deal.
