We didn't pay players -- GAA
THE GAA has denied that it paid players to address spectators in Croke Park, via the big screens, asking them not to come on to the pitch.
Sean Cavanagh (Tyrone) and Marc O Se (Kerry) were among those used to reinforce the GAA message in recent weeks.
GAA Communications Director Lisa Clancy said the players involved in the initiative had been secured by the GPA.
"This was a joint GAA-GPA initiative. The GPA are fully behind the GAA in trying to keep the pitch free after games. After all, it's a big issue for players," said Clancy.
"The GPA lined up the players to make the appeal. There was no question of the GAA paying the players."
