Vaughan shows difference in class as DIT coast through

The eagerly anticipated quarter-final clash between IT Tralee and the Mark Vaughan-led DIT, failed to catch fire as the Dublin side cruised into the semi-finals, without breaking sweat in Tralee yesterday.

Paddy Curran gave Tralee the lead in the opening minute but that was as good as it got for the home side, as Aidan Kilcoyne soon levelled from play and then Mark Vaughan put DIT in front.

Slowly DIT took over and finished the final 10 minutes of the half with Vaughan kicking two points and another from full-back Eoin Naughton.

The second half was more one sided than the first as DIT added a succession of points, with Kilcoyne and Vaughan hitting five between them to set up a final quarter stroll.
