Mayo v NUI Galway, Castlebar, 7.0,

M Duffy (Sligo)

Mayo only got home from Dubai on Wednesday and also face Sligo IT in Charlestown on Sunday. They lost to Leitrim in similar circumstances last year when they were just off the plane from America.

But NUIG have been badly hit by injuries, with captain and Tipp senior Robbie Kiely the latest to join the likes of Adrian Varley and Mayo's Conor O'Shea on their casualty list. James Horan's men should have enough to hit the ground running here.

Verdict: Mayo

Limerick v IT Tralee, Rathkeale, 7.30,

F Horgan (Tipperary)

It's the first day out for the Munster champs under their two-man management team of Donal O'Grady and TJ Ryan and victory would line up an early-season clash with Clare.

Tralee IT have never won a game in this competition and, even though Limerick are currently weakened by injuries and the absence of the Na Piarsaigh contingent, they should still have no problems.

They will be blooding players like Richie English, Darragh O'Donoghue and Darragh Kennedy of last summer's minors.

Verdict: Limerick
