Donie Shine produced a brilliant performance in the second half to inspire Roscommon to their fourth straight victory.

Shine kicked four points from play in a 15-minute spell, while Cathal Gregg and Enda Smith raced through the heart of the home defence to grab a goal each and plunge Fermanagh deep into a relegation dogfight.

Fermanagh led by five points on two separate occasions but each time Roscommon were able to produce scoring flurries that the Erne men could not handle. Sean Quigley was a standout figure for Fermanagh with a goal and five points, and his brother Seamus netted a brace of goals, his second a last-minute consolation.

Roscommon were the better team, with Cathal Shine growing in influence over the course of the game and Neil Collins and Ciaran Cafferky eye catching in the defence.

Fermanagh led by five after 15 minutes but found themselves four behind approaching half-time. Yet the home produced a scintillating spell that saw them go in at the break two points up.

Things started well for Pete McGrath's men when Seamus Quigley reacted quickest to a shot that dropped short to flick the ball to the net but Roscommon hit 1-5 without reply, with Diarmuid Murtagh in cracking form. Conor Daly got their goal.

However, Fermanagh took a two-point lead into the break after a brilliantly worked move involving the Quigley brothers and Ryan Jones and finished to the net by Lee Cullen.
